Say Hello to Mali
Staffordshire Bull Terrier & Bullmastiff, 2 years old
My favourite thing about Mali is...
She is very gentle despite her large size, she was very excitable when visitors arrived when she was a puppy, always jumping up licking and wanting to sit on their lap even when she weighed over 75 pounds at nine months! She is now 17 months old and is still excitable but beginning to calm down very quickly when visitors arrive and now lies at their feet or at their side on the sofa!
The biggest challenge with Mali is...
Getting her to calm down and to stay calm throughout a visitors stay! But she loves all people and other dogs and she adores our Tom cat, Jeremy! When he comes in for a meal, he marches into the living room for Mali, who must then dutifully follow him to the kitchen. She then sits watching him eat until he leaves to go back out wandering again!
The most surprising thing about owning a Staffordshire Bull Terrier & Bullmastiff is...
How very gentle and loving she is despite her size, and how much she has grown up in her 14 months with us. We can barely remember her as a little puppy because - she wasn’t!
What I wish I’d known about Staffordshire Bull Terriers & Bullmastiffs is...
How easy they are to train and keen to learn and do your bidding. She is a gentle giant; so kind and full of love, and very protective of her family and home. She has never destroyed anything while growing up but loves all her Kong toys and has chewed them all to bits.
