PRO PLAN LIVECLEAR must be the primary diet. However, supplementing with the occasional treat or wet food choice is acceptable.
If you supplement more than you should, you will soon notice a reduction in the allergen-reducing benefits that it brings. You will then start to understand the limits for your cat.
All cats produce the Fel d 1 allergen in their saliva, which is then transferred into the home and onto their fur as they clean themselves.
In the first 3 weeks of feeding PRO PLAN LIVECLEAR, the key protein source from eggs safely binds to the Fel d 1 allergen and starts to neutralise it. As every cat is different, the level of Fel d 1 produced may differ, as can the timings.
It can also stay around the house so feeding PRO PLAN LIVECLEAR should be included in your general allergen management routine.

In fact, the cat will continue to produce allergens and shed as normal. The key ingredient in PRO PLAN LIVECLEAR, a specific protein found in eggs, simply binds to the allergen in cats’ saliva and neutralizes it, safely, in the cat’s mouth. The action happens in the cat’s mouth, but once swallowed, the ingredient is digested like any other protein.
