Let's say hello to Merlin

Labrador Retriever, 1 Year old

🏠 Suburbs dog
🍼 Lives with children

My favourite thing about Merlin is...

This guy still thinks hes a 12wk old puppy. Ask for a cuddle and you get all 36kg leap onto your knee, he then rests his head and proceeds to snore away, content as can be. He is handled by my 9yr old daughter..no mean feat when hes this big and theyre off to Crufts next year having had a great 6months of showing. A first for her, hes helped her find a new hobby she loves! He truly dotes on her.

The biggest challenge with Merlin is...

He's just hit 1 and so has regressed and become a naughty teenager. Little things can make him hyper so we are working on calming him down and taking the bounce out of Tigger. Hes buzzing and loving life, he just needs to contain it a little! That said its a cheeky side we still love.

The most surprising thing about owning a Labrador Retriever is...

They will eat (and eat and eat). They dont get full and will find food even if not intended for them. Food is life!

What I wish I’d known about Labrador Retrievers is...

I'm an experienced lab mum so no surprises…you'll get muscles you never thought possible in your arms, hairs on your clothes, slobber on you and your furniture and a whole lot of love in return.

Did you know?

Labradors have turned their paw to a whole host of dog careers, including: drug and explosive detection, search and rescue, and even guide dogs!
