Meet Pepper

Pepper is more cat like, clever, climbs into trees, fearless, loyal and loving. Imagine a whippet in a black poodle coat - no shivering but fast and smart, working out which tree a squirrel will run to and try and beat it to the base. Soft and gentle, I have to check the treats have gone from my hand as she magics them from my palm without touching me. When I was seriously ill she wrapped herself around me!

I rescued Pepper and was told she couldn't travel in cars and even after a year she was not walking on a lead. I took her home and just walked her without a lead and she walked by my side. Two weeks later she was on the lead and coming back to a whistle.

Cleverer than poodles which I have had the pleasure of living with in the past. No shivering like whippets but still sensitive and smart. On one occasion my other dogs while on their leads were attacked and Pepper at first ran off but came back and bowled the dog over without a sound or a bite just knocked it like bowling pins, sending it back to its owner not knowing what hit it.

Whippets have learnt to find their own food and Pepper will climb to get what she would like to enjoy but with a full and rewarding diet she will stay on the floor.
