My female Labrador was initially not impressed with this new food - the individual kibble pieces were quite a bit larger than what she was used to. However after a few days she seemed to get used to it and ate the new food without any issues.
After using the food for a few weeks I haven't noticed any difference in her behaviour or the condition of her coat. Her previous food was also of a very high quality.
The main difference was the quality of her poop. With this new food she still went as regularly. The amount produced was a slightly higher volume but it broke up more easily and was harder to pick up.

El Mutto seems to enjoys the crunchiness of these.
We like the dual sizes/shapes which adds some variety.
whilst we can't provide a meaningful quantitative assessment on any health benefits, we like that these have prebiotics to help with digestion. We phased these in and no signs of any digestive distress or discomfort.
whilst it doesn't make much of a gravy, El Mutto seems to enjoy these mixed with wet food. Clean bowl every time.

Theo has been thoroughly enjoying Purina Beta Adult Large Breed. I was so excited for Theo to try this food as Purina is a reputable brand that has been running since 1904. They pride themselves when creating high quality, nutritious, trustworthy pet food. The Purina Beta range is a naturally-tailored range of dog food made with high quality ingredients. Theo isn’t fussy when it comes to food with meat content but I can certainly notice when he has a keen interest in particular foods. This was certainly the case when it came to this dog food. He walloped it down within minutes and licked the bowl clean. I was particularly interested and impressed with the health benefits and the fact that it is tailored and formulated for large breeds (considering he’s 37kg!). The ingredients are natural containing carrot, spinach, parsley, chicory and wholegrains. It contains natural prebiotics and does not contain any artificial colours, flavourings or preservatives. This large dog breed food caters for heart health (with essential amino acids to help support vital organs function). This is so important for me as heart conditions such as DCM are prevalent in Dobermans and having lost a doberman to this condition myself, I look for foods that support heart care. It also caters for joint mobility as it contains omega 3 fatty acids which not only support the joints but also help develop a shiny coat. As a bonus there are there are 2 sizes of kibble to encourage slower eating. Although this might not seem an important aspect it helps prevent conditions such as bloat which are a concern for deep-chested dogs like my Theo. For such a healthy food I didn’t think he would enjoy it as much as he did! He didn’t leave a single crumb! I will definitely be exploring other flavours within the range and I am so impressed with the long list of health benefits it has. A HUGE thumbs up from both myself and Theo.
My dog can be fussy, she will often refuse to eat her food unless I mix it will wet food but she seemed to really like this. When I first saw the size of the kibble I thought she would turn her nose up at it but it seems she liked how big the chunks are, it's like a bowl of dog treats instead of normal sized biscuits. Since using Beta she has been eating every meal so I take that as a sign she is really enjoying the taste. The design of the bag is very eye catching which I like but it seems to have lasted longer than my normal food, I think because the biscuits are so big, it seems to further. I'd say if you have a fussy dog like mine, it's definitely worth a try.
